29 ways to stay creative....
from stumbleupon. Commentary in pink by myself
(I apologize in advance for the Junie B. Jonesish writing style that popped out towards the end.)
1. Make lists.
Ways to Trick People into Thinking I'm a Disney Princess
1. Talk to animals, inanimate objects, and myself. Frequently.
2. Have some form of sparkle on at all times.
3. Sing impromptu original songs about the current situation I'm in. Include choreography.
2. Carry a notebook everywhere.
So that if someone needs their fate to be decided by a foldey fortune teller/cootie catcher thing, it may be done immediately.
3. Try free writing.
By blogging about your colorful life and shoving it into your friends' faces by posting a link to the blog on facebook. Like-a-so....
4. Get away from the computer.
And do a cartwheel. Or try doing a back bend and then walking on all fours but its like upside down all fours. It's quite confusing to the brain, actually.
5. Quit beating yourself up.
Seriously, though. This is a good one. God made you exactly how you are for a reason. Everytime you insult yourself you are insulting the wonderful One!! You wouldn't tell your friends the things you say to yourself, so don't do it!
6. Take breaks.
To hula hoop. If a hula is not available, drink some green tea and color in a coloring book!
7. Sing in the shower.
Maresy dotes and dosey dotes and little lamsey divey.
8. Drink coffee.
Or not.....
9. Listen to new music.
Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Roman's Revenge. Yes.
10. Be open.
Maybe not too open though. I kinda tell the whole world everything about me and everything that I think when I think it. Therefore, what could be sexy, mysterious Veronica, then turns into weird, ridiculous Ronnie.
11. Surround yourself with creative people.
Such as myself. Ha :)
12. Get feedback.
Well I actually don't really like this one because maybe you should just be happy with what God and yourself thinks of yourself. Like if I asked for feedback about these blogs or the songs that I write or the way I dance around, it probably wouldn't all be that lovely. And then it would just ruin the good vibes I get when I write, sing, or dance...whether I'm a pro or just a silly sil!
13. Collaborate.
Yes. Do that. People are great :)
14. Don't give up.
I actually give up a lot kind of haha. I probably need to work on that one before I comment further.
15. Practice, practice, practice.
Also gotta work on this one too....if I don't get something right away I get a lump in my throat and feel like crying and then I move on to something that I get. Woops!
16. Allow yourself to make mistakes.
This reminded me of this super cool book I saw in Barnes and Noble the other day! I don't remember what it's called, but it's a children's book that shows a lot of different accidents made into cute little pictures. Like this coffee spill was turned into a little bunny I think. Or something like that. It was fun, though.
17. Go somewhere new.
Unless you have $20 in your checking account. Then you should probably not go somewhere new for a while.
18. Count your blessings.
Also you can do this when you are bored at work. I could go on for a full 8 hour shift and still have more to be thankful for!!!
19. Get lots of rest.
Naaaahhh. I don't really like to sleep. I wish Edward would bite me and then not drink my blood. So I could be a vampire. So I didn't have to sleep. Cuz it's kind of a waste of time if you ask me. But I'd ask Edward to make it so I was a vampire who still ate human food. Cuz blood makes me cry. And also, I like sour patch kids and cotton candy and macaroni and cheese too much.
20. Take risks.
That spicy little banana pepper you're afraid to try? Might actually turn out to be delightful! Worst case scenario your mouth gets tingly and hot and you have to drink a gallon of milk and then you throw up cuz you drank it too fast.
21. Break the rules.
But I actually don't think this one is the greatest idea. Like what about the rule of you can't drive in the far left lane? I've broken that rule a few times and I don't get more creative. I get honked at, flipped off, and a bunch of shaking heads. And then I move over so I am with the flow of traffic again. Oopsie daisies.
22. Don't force it.
Yes. Cuz if you try to force open a cap on a bottle of soap or something...it will just pop right off and hit your eye and also make your heart jump because it scared you a little.
23. Read a page of the dictionary.
Umm....maybe I'll try that one when I'm older. That doesn't sound too fun right now.
24. Create a framework.
.......whatever that means....
25. Stop trying to be someone else's perfect.
Oh believe me. I've been trying since I was 12. And ya know how that worked out for me? Well, I'm still single, that's how it worked out!
26. Got an idea? Write it down!
In your phone's notepad. And then be confused when you look back through it a month later and wonder why an ee cummings poem is typed out in your phone...
27. Clean your workspace.
HA!
28. Have fun.
Well, duh! If you can't create at least 10 minutes of fun in each day then I am very sad for you. Also you should give me a call. Cuz I'm so fun.
29. Finish something.
Like you just did right NOW by reading this whole crazy long blog I just wrote! Congratulations!
